摘要: Geometry of special holonomy Abstract: We give a simple and uniform description if various geometric structures on manifolds, including Calabi-Yau structure and G_2 structure, which play important roles in String theory and M-theory in physics. Our description uses normed division algebras, namely real, complex, quaterion and octonion numbers. We also use this to explain the classification of Riemannian symmetric spaces.
