题 目: Canonical Bases for Branching Algebras
摘 要: This talk will focus on the branching algebras, arising from classical symmetric pairs. Using the GL(n) tensor product algebra,which encapsulates the decomposition of tensor products of arbitraryirreducible representations of the general linear group of invertible n by n complex matrices GL(n), we will describe a linear (and explicit) basis for this algebra. This construction relates directly with the combinatorial description of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients in terms of Littlewood-Richardson tableaux. Philosophically, one may view this construction as a recasting of the Littlewood-Richardson rule in the context of classical invariant theory.
