摘 要：This is a survey talk for general audience based on the paper:
Eiichi Bannai and Etsuko Bannai, A survey on spherical designs and algebraic combinatorics on spheres, Europ. J. Combinatorics 30 (2009), 1392-1425.
In this talk, we will mainly discuss the following topics.
(i) Concept of spherical t-designs,
(ii) Spherical t-designs which are orbits of a finite group,
(ii) Spherical t-designs which are shells of a Euclidean lattice,
(iv) The existence and explicit construction problems of spherical t-designs,
(v) Study of spherical t-designs from the viewpoint of algebraic combinatorics, and
(vi) Universally optimal configurations on the sphere in the sense of Cohn-Kumar.


报告人简介


坂内英一 （Eiichi Bannai）教授1974年获得东京大学博士学位，曾在东京大学、学习院大学、俄亥俄州立大学、九州大学等著名高校任教，是国际代数组合领域的领军人物和研究先驱。坂内教授早期从事群论的研究，后来逐渐转向组合数学领域。他与依藤达郎教授合写的专著(E. Bannai, T. Ito, Algebraic Combinatorics, I, Associatoion Schemes, Benjamin/Cummings, 1984.)是世界上第一本使用代数组合学这一名称的专著，1987年被翻译成俄文出版，已经成为代数组合领域的经典书籍，在谷歌学术搜索可查到有近1100次的引用率。坂内教授已发表110多篇研究论文，研究内容包括组合数学（图，设计，码，结合方案，球面设计等）、有限群、数论（格和模形式）、正交多项式(Askey-Wilson 正交多项式)、数值分析中的积分公式、数学物理（自旋模型与能量极小化构型）等。他是8份国际杂志的编委，曾组织过多次代数与组合方面的国际学术会议，包括与万哲先院士一起在1994年组织了第一届中日代数组合国际会议。荣获1979年俄亥俄州立大学颁发的Distinguished Research Award和2007年日本数学会颁发的2007 Algebra Prize。坂内教授的最大梦想是从代数组合的角度对有限单群分类给出新的理解和推广。
