题目: Asymptotic Properties of Surface Maps and Chromatic Number of Random Maps

摘要: A map is graph G embedded in a surface S such that each component of S-G is a simply connected region.Enumeration of surface maps was initiated by Tutte in the 1960s and it has applications in algebraic geometry and quantum phiysics.In this talk,we survey some known results about the asymptoic number of maps and about the asymptotic properties of random maps.We will also mention some conjectures about the chromatic number of a random map on a fixed surface.
