报告摘要：
Let f be a differentiable function on the real line, and lift it to self-adjoint matrices.
According to a formula of Daleckii and Krein, the derivative of this map is realised as the Schur product with the divided-difference matrix of f. For several interesting functions f, the norm of this operation can be either explicitly computed or well-estimated. This leads to good perturbation bounds for these functions.

报告人简介：著名矩阵分析和算子理论专家，担任美国SIAM J. Matrix Anal . Appl. 和Linear Algebra Appl.两本杂志的编委，在德国 Springer和美国Princeton Univ Press等出版社出版过5本书。这次他应邀来杭州在第四届国际华人数学家大会（12月 17－22）上作1小时大会邀请报告，顺便访问我校作短期讲学。
