摘要: A linear algebraic group is a group
which is isomorphic to a closed subgroup of a general linear group GL(n,K) under Zariski topology, where K is an algebraically closed field and n is a positive integer. The theory of linear algebraic groups was established in the middle of last century and has got extensive developments thereafter. It relates many mathematical subjects such as Lie algebras, Lie groups, finite groups (in particular, Weyl groups, finite groups of Lie type), quantum groups, algebraic geometry, associative algebras (in particular, Hecke algebras), Hopf algebras, algebraic topology, representation theory, combinatorics, etc.

In my talks, I shall give a brief introduction to the structure of linear algebraic groups and their representations as well as some related topics.
