陈永川教授，现任南开大学副校长，南开数学研究所教授和博士生导师，Acta Mathematica Sinica(《数学学报》)中文版、英文版编委，Advances in Mathematics(《数学进展》)编委， Advances in Applied Mathematics (《应用数学进展》)编委，Graphs and Combinatorics (《图与组合》)编委，Annals of Combinatorics (《组合年刊》)执行编委。1984年获四川大学计算机软件学士学位，1987年赴美国麻省理工学院学习，1991年获应用数学博士学位，同年被美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室授予奥本海默研究员奖，1994年回国到南开数学研究所任教授。95年荣获首届国家杰出青年科学基金，96年获得国家教委科技进步一等奖，同年被评为天津市十大杰出青年，97年获得联合国教科文组织“侯赛因”青年科学家奖，98年获得国家教委霍英东奖，中国“五四”青年奖章，中国青年科技奖。陈永川教授还是第九届全国政协委员，天津市科协副主席，国家自然科学基金委员会评审委员。

摘要:
This is joint work with A. L. B. Yang. We settle the zrank conjecture on skew partitions proposed Richard Stanley. We first give a brief review on partitions and skew partitions. Then we review several characterizations of the rank of skew partitions in terms of the combinatorics of Young diagrams. Stanley defined the zrank for skew partitions and conjectured that the rank and zrank are equal for any skew partitions.
