Fully nonlinear elliptic equations in geometric problems

*讲座内容简介:
The study of fully nonlinear PDEs of second order originated from Weyl and Minkowski problems in classical geometry, and Calabi conjectures in Kahler geometry. Since the breakthroughs in the 70-80's of last century, it has developed into an active research field in mathematics. In this talk we shall present some of the geometric problems and related fully nonlinear PDEs. At the second half of the talk we shall discuss the classical solvability of a general class of fully nonlinear equations on manifolds, and report some recent results if time permits.

*主讲人简介:
关波,俄亥俄州立大学数学系教授。研究方向为非线性偏微分方程和几何分析, 主要工作集中在蒙日-安培方程以及流形上一般完全非线性偏微分方程的研究。其部分学术论文发表在 Annals of Math., CPAM, J. Eur. Math. Soc., Duke Math. J., Amer. J. Math., Crelle's, JDG, Adv. Math.等专业学术期刊上。
