【学术讲堂】Jordan property - When finite subgroups are almost abelian?
A group G is said Jordan if its finite subgroups are "almost" abelian. This terminology is named after Camile Jordan, who in the year 1878, proved that the Jordan property for any general linear group over any field of characteristic 0. In the recent several decades, this property has drawn attention of topologists, differential geometers and algebraic geometers. In this talk, I'll survay these known results and introduce some of my recent progress.
