摘要:
In this talk, I wish to reflect on the role that history of mathematics may play in the preparation of secondary school mathematics teachers. After a brief presentation of the specificities of the teacher education programmes in the province of Québec (Canada), I will focus on a history of mathematics course that I have been teaching for more than ten years to prospective teachers. Of particular interest to me, in this context, is the use of historical ingredients in order to provide a refreshed perspective on various topics related to school education. I will present examples of material that I have developed in my teaching and discuss some of the challenges to be faced in such a course.
