Cross product of finite von Neumann algebras with Property $\Gamma$

Abstract:

In this talk, we review Property Gamma of type II$_1$ von Neumann algebras and some of its applications. In addition, we show that, Property Gamma is preserved under the cross product obtained from a trace preserving, properly outer action of a countable amenable group on a type II$_1$ von Neumann algebra.
