Maximal Amenable Subalgebras of von Neumann Algebras

Abstract:
An amenable subalgebra of a von Neumann algebra is called to be maximal if it can not be properly contained in any amenable subalgebras. It is well known that each nonatomic finite amenable von Neumann algebra can be embedded in a type II_1 factor as a maximal amenable subalgebra. In this report, we consider maximal amenable subalgebras of the crossed product of free group factors by trace preserving automorphisms.
