$L^2$ invariants and dynamical systems

Abstract:
In the last decade there has emerged connections between $L_2$-invariants
theory and dynamical systems, involving the Fuglede-Kadison determinant,
$L_2$-torsion and von Neumann-Lueck rank on one side, and entropy and mean
dimension on the other side. I will survey these developments.
