Group von Neumann Algebras in Automorphic Representations

Abstract:

We consider the von Neumann algebras of arithmetic groups and regard automorphic representations as modules over these algebras. We will show that the von Neumann dimension provides asymptotic multiplicities. We will further prove that it gives an invariant of the JacquetLanglands correspondence for GL(n).

About the speaker:

杨骏，现任南开大学数学科学学院副教授。他于2021年在范德堡大学 获得数学博士学位，导师为菲尔兹奖得主 Vaughan Jones 和 Dietmar Bisch 。此后，他前往哈佛大学从事博士后研究，合作导师为数学物理学家 Arthur Jaffe 。他的主要研究领域为表示论、算子代数、算术群以及数 论。其研究成果丰硕，多篇高水平论文发表在 Advances in Mathematics、Communications in Mathematical Physics等期刊上。
