Abstract:

We recently managed to describe K-homology groups for a pair of compacts metric spaces in terms of the relative Roe functors for the metric cone of this pair. The new groups are defined not only for metric cones, but for all proper metric spaces (endowed with the bounded coarse structure), which in turn raises a natural question: do these new groups form a coarse homology theory? In this talk we are going to discuss some recent progress in this direction.
