Abstract:

We discuss the following problems related to Furstenberg 's ×p,× q conjecture: irreducible representations of a semidirect product group, Fourier coefficients of Borel measures on the unit circle, equidistribution of a double sequence in the unit circle and a semigroup action on C[0,1]. Part of the work is joint with Jianchao Wu.
