Abstract:

In this talk, we consider the non-linear sigma model in string theory in the frame of noncommutative geometry following the general set-up of Mathai and Rosenberg. In particular, we are going to pay attention to the model on the noncommutative torus, which means that we fix our source space as the noncommutative torus. For various target spaces, we review or establish the Euler-Lagrange equations and show some useful observations.
