Simple $C^*$-algebras with quasicontinuous scale

Abstract:

Let $A$ be a unital separable simple exact $\mathcal{Z}$-stable $C^*$-algebra. Let $B$ be a nonunital hereditary $C^*$-subalgebra of $A \otimes \mathcal{K}$. We characterize when the corona algebra $M(B)/B$ is (nonsimple) purely infinite.
