The $C^*$-algebra of a minimal homeomorphism with zero mean dimension

Abstract:

Consider a minimal homeomorphism of a compact metrizable space, and assume that the homeomorphism has zero mean topological dimension (a dynamical version of topological covering dimension, which was introduced by Lindenstrauss and Weiss). It is shown that the $C^*$-algebra of that minimal homeomorphism always has strict comparison of positive elements.
