浙江镇海人。1981年毕业于上海格致中学,考入华东师大数学系。 1985年从华东师大数学系毕业后,留华东师大数学系任教。1997年获新加坡奖学金,赴南洋理工大学攻读博士学位。2000学成回国,继续在华东师大任教,现任华东师范大学数学系副教授、《数学教学》副主编、中国教育学会中学数学教学专业委员会理事、学术委员会委员。

近年来主要在参与我国基础教育的改革,是国家普通高中数学课程标准研制组的成员,也是华东师范大学版的全国义务教育课程标准实验教科书初中《数学》编写组的成员,负责其中概率统计部分的设计与编写。

曾参与编译过弗赖登塔尔的《作为教育任务的数学》等西方著作,也参与编写过《数学教育研究导引》、《数学教育个案学习》以及江西教育出版社的《数学教育学》和浙江教育出版社的《数学教育学》以及高等教育出版社的《数学教育概论》等论著和教材。
