A cycle in an edge-colored graph is called rainbow (proper) if any two (adjacent) edges of the cycle have different colors. In this talk we will survey the results on rainbow cycles and proper cycles in edge-colored graphs. Some open problems are also presented. This is a joint work with my student Xiaozheng Chen et al.
