TATSURO ITO教授就职于日本金沢大学理工学院数物科学系,博士生导师,九州大学流动教授,曾在Ohio State University作过访问教授。曾担任日本科学研究费委员会委员,特别研究员审查会专门委员等职务,同时也是London Mathematical Society会员。在代数上很有造诣,特别是在代数组合论方面有突出的表现,他和坂内英一教授是日本代数组合论的领军人物,目前主要研究方向:(P and Q)-结合方案、量子群、Terwilliger代数的表现和应用等。
Abstract
(P and Q)-polynomial schemes, which are discrete analogues of
compact symmetric spaces of rank 1, provide underlying spaces for
the modern theory of codes and designs. The Terwilliger algebras of
them are one of the main research targets in algebraic combinatorics,
since their irreducible representations are expected to play a crucial
role in the study of (P and Q)-polynomial schemes. Tridiagonal pairs
(TD-pairs) arise from irreducible representations of the Terwilliger
algebra of a (P and Q)-polynomial scheme as purely linear algebraic
objects that capture the essential part of the (P and Q)-polynomial
property. In this talk, I will give a survey on the present status of
the classification of TD-pairs. The TD-algebra is introduced and its
finite-dimensional irreducible representations are discussed in relation
to the quantum affine algebra Uq(bsl2).
