Pure infiniteness and ideal structure of $C^*$-algebras associated with Fell bundles

Abstract:

Fell bundles provide a convenient framework for studying several diverse classes of $C^*$-algebras, including crossed products corresponding to global or partial dynamical systems, semigroup crossed products, graph algebras, and Cuntz-Pimsner algebras of product systems, among others. We discuss the ideal structure and related features of the reduced cross-sectional algebras arising from Fell bundles over discrete groups. We also discuss pure infiniteness of the cross-sectional algebra in relation to aperiodicity of the underlying Fell bundle.
